FAQ

Private means private. Your private messages, group chats and video calls are not read, watched, listened to or recorded by anyone running this site. This site is designed to respect the Philippine Data Privacy Act and the Anti-Wiretapping Law: it collects only what the chat needs, and it does not secretly intercept private communications.

Your privacy

Can the owner or staff read my private messages?
No. Private messages and group chats are private between the people in them. Nobody on the team reads them, and there is no screen that lists them. The only exception is a message you or another person in the conversation reports: then that one message (not the rest of the conversation) is shared with moderators so they can act on it.
Can anyone watch or listen to my video calls?
No. Calls go directly between the two people (the server only helps them connect), and nothing is recorded or stored. Staff cannot join, watch or listen to a call. The site keeps only a log entry: who called whom, when, and for how long. If someone reports a call, moderators see that report, not a recording.
What can the owner and staff see?
Public rooms (the same as everyone in the room), the logs of staff actions (mutes, bans, role changes), reports people have sent, and simple facts such as who is online, who signed in, and how many messages were sent in a day. Logs record who did what and when, never what was said in private.
Is my email address shown to other people?
No. Your email is used only to send you a code when you sign up or reset your password, and is never shown to other chatters.
Are pictures checked?
Yes, automatically, before anyone sees them, including pictures sent in private messages and profile pictures. This is how the site keeps nudity and illegal material out. If the check is unsure, the picture is held back and a moderator looks at that picture before it can be shown. Material that matches known child-abuse images is refused, kept as evidence and reported to the authorities as the law requires.
What does the site keep about me?
Your nickname, email (members), profile picture and settings, the messages you send in rooms and chats, your level, and a record of when you signed in. Your device keeps your theme, sound and background choices. To ask for your data to be corrected or deleted, contact the site owner; self-service deletion is planned.
Why is there a flag next to some names? Can I hide mine?
The flag shows the country a chatter is connecting from, worked out on the site's own server from their connection (the address is not sent to any other service, and only the 2-letter country is kept, never a town or address). It can be wrong, for example for people using a VPN. Members can switch their flag off under Profile & settings.
Can anyone watch my webcam?
Only if you turn your camera on in a room, and only people who choose to press “Watch”. The picture goes straight from your device to the viewers and is never recorded. You can turn it off at any time, and moderators can switch off a camera that breaks the rules.
Can a screenshot be taken of a chat?
The site cannot stop other people taking screenshots or copying what you post in a room, so only share what you are comfortable with. Never share personal details such as your address or phone number.

Getting in

Do I need an account?
You can join as a guest with a nickname and by confirming you are 18 or older. Guests can chat in rooms and send private messages (if the other person allows it) but cannot post links, send pictures, make video calls or have a profile picture. Members sign up with an email and can do all of that.
How do I log in? What if I forget my password?
Members log in with their nickname and password. When you sign up we email you a 6-digit code once, to confirm your address, and you choose your password. If you forget it, choose “Forgot password?” and we email a new code so you can set a new one. If that doesn't work, the site owner can give you a temporary password; you'll be asked to choose your own straight away. Nobody can see your password, not even the owner.
Why must I add a profile picture to sign up?
So everyone can tell who they are talking to. Pictures are checked automatically (see above). You can change yours later, but not remove it.
Why was I signed out?
Only one sign-in per account is allowed at a time. Signing in on another device signs the earlier one out.
Can I change my nickname?
Members can, once a week. Nicknames are never shared: nobody else can use yours, and look-alikes (such as “Ana” and “A.na”) count as the same name.
Is this site for children?
No. It is for people 18 and older. Anyone who is underage will be removed.

Using the chat

How do I message someone privately?
Tap their name or picture, then “Send a private message”. Conversations open in a small window at the bottom-right that you can drag anywhere.
How do group chats work?
Members can add other members to a private conversation (up to 8 people). Anyone in the group can add more people or leave. Group messages are private to the group in the same way as private messages.
What links can I share?
Members can share links, including YouTube videos. Adult sites, link shorteners, hidden addresses, and links to other chat sites or chat-app invites are not allowed. A YouTube video only loads when you tap it.
How do I report something or block someone?
Open “⋯” beside a message (or the person's card) to report it. Block someone from their card, and they can no longer message or call you.
What are levels?
You earn a point for each message you send, up to 30 a day, and move up a level as points add up. Your badge shows next to your name.
What are the games, the DJ Corner and the greeting cards?
From a private conversation you can play tic-tac-toe, chess or Word Tiles with another member. Each room has a DJ Corner (🎧). On the Music tab, members add YouTube links or share a song they own to a queue that plays for everyone who taps Listen, in sync. On the Live mic tab a member can go on air and talk (the microphone needs a secure https address); the DJ can bring up to 3 chatters on air as guest speakers, play sound effects, and use keyboard shortcuts (M mutes, hold Space to talk, 1–9 and 0 for effects). Only people who press Listen hear anything, and nothing is recorded. Songs you share are deleted as soon as they have played, and you must confirm you have the right to share them. You can also send funny animated greeting cards (10 scenes each for birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, Mother's Day, Independence Day and 25 more occasions) to a room.
Can I change how my messages look?
Yes. In Profile & settings you can pick a font, a modest size, a text colour, and bold, italic or underline. The colours are chosen so they stay readable on both the light and dark chat board.
What is ChatBot?
A friendly bot, always labelled BOT, that welcomes people and answers a few commands such as !help, !time, !dice, !joke and !pep (a pep talk, for you or a friend). You can also greet it by name, like “hi ChatBot”. It only sees what is said in the public room, like anyone else there. It cannot read private messages.
What do Active, Away and Busy mean?
They are just a coloured dot to tell people how you are doing. You are set to Away automatically after five quiet minutes and back to Active when you return.

Rules

What is not allowed?
Harassment, hate, scams, spam, anything involving minors, nudity or sexual content, and anything unlawful. Moderators can mute, remove or ban people, and the owner and Super Admins can ban across the whole site.
Who are the Owner, Super Admins, Admins and Mods?
They are the people who look after the chat. The Owner appoints Super Admins; a Super Admin appoints Admins; Admins and Mods help keep the rooms friendly. They have no special access to private messages or calls.
